Little Miss Sunshine is a movie about a dysfunctional family who takes a trip to a beauty contest where the youngest daughter of that family will participate in. With each family member having his/her own quirk and queerness, the trip turns into a journey that is hilarious, revealing, and the one that reshapes them as a family. There’s no expensive special effect or glamorous stars in this film. Yet this film comes with a lovely soundtrack album.
Mychael Danna is the music composer for the scores of the movie and the songs that are compiled into Little Miss Sunshine Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Besides funk/soul singer Rick James, the other artists contribute in this album are indie artists with a rather unique music style, which makes most songs in this soundtrack album sound sort of eclectic.
