
Taking references to the famous “seize the day” saying and vampirism for the title, Terry Pratchett continued his epic and humorous Discworld fantasy series to the twenty-third novel with Carpe Jugulum—it is Latatian for "seize the throat." Originally published in 1998, the book parodies many elements of traditional vampire and suite them to his often-bizarre Discworld existence.
