Dan Brown is one of the best and most controversial mystery-thriller writers. In 2000, his novel Angels and Demons was first released and it became a successful bestselling book. Here Robert Langdon makes his first appearance and he will still be the protagonist of another Brown’s works: Da Vinci Code (2003) and The Lost Symbol (2009). The three of them share a lot of common elements: conspiracy theory, secret society, ancient church history, architecture, and symbolism. A movie adaptation based on this book was released in 2009.
