From early 1990s, Anton Newcombe has literally been the motor of the band—or the band itself—The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Originally founded in San Fransisco, America, this music group has continuously changed its members, but one thing that it constantly preserves is the electrical style and sound .

Smoking Acid is BJM’s sixth EP (or their 17th release). It was first released in 2009 as the result of Anton Newcombe’s collaboration with Jón Sæmundur Auðarson, and Icelandic musician. This album contains five tracks and its production is strictly limited to 1,000 copies. It still displays the gloomy, wicked psychedelic sound as the rest of the album by the band. Yet, Newcombe shows he has taken another step in his songwriting and his musical vision is heading to a new direction.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre, or widely known as BJM, is a nineties American band that is still active until today. Initially formed in San Francisco, this eclectic music group has undergone many member changes through the years and the remaining original founder—also leader of the band—is Anton Newcombe. Their unique musical style mixes various influences: psychedelic, electronic, folk music, blues, and experimental.

Released in 2001, Bravery Repetition and Noise is BJM’s ninth full album. The album's background is clearly apparent, that it is inspired by psychedelia and also punk nihilism. As the result, it creates a distinctive experimental sound compared to anything that had come before or since. The band lovingly re-creates the moods and atmospheres of the past.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American music group formed in the early 1990s in San Francisco. Led by Anton Newcombe, with assortment music players that come and go, this band creates an eclectic musical style that blends various genres, including  psychedelic, electronic, folk music, blues, and experimental.

Methodrone is the band’s second studio album. It is released in 1995. The album title is inspired by the drug methadone, which is used in treatment of heroin addiction, and the word "drone," which is a reference to the shoegaze sound of the album. This album displays dreamy rock sound that makes it different from the rest of The Brian Jonestown Massacre albums.
