James Joyce - Dubliners.pdf (eBook)

James Joyce - Dubliners.pdf (eBook)
PDF Pages: 203 | File Size: 1MB |

There are 15 short stories by James Joyce in Dubliners and they were written during Irish nationalism reached its peak. First published as a single book in 1914, those stories were intended to be a naturalistic illustration of Irish middle class life in and around Dublin in the early years of the 20th century.

At that time, there was a raging search for a national identity and purpose. Ireland was at a crossroads of history and culture, jolted by various converging ideas and influences. The first three stories in "Dubliners" might be incidents from a draft of "Portrait of the Artist," and many of the characters who figure in "Ulysses" have their first appearance here, but this is not a book of interest only because of its relationship to Joyce's life and mature work. It is one of the greatest story collections in the English language—an unflinching, brilliant, often tragic portrait of early twentieth-century Dublin. The book, which begins and ends with a death, moves from "stories of my childhood" through tales of public life. Its larger purpose, Joyce said, was as a moral history of Ireland.

Life on the island then changes into nightmare, panic, and death. Nirvana released their debut studio album Bleach in 1989. At that time, they had not earned the “King of Grunge” title yet and they released it under an independent label, Sub Pop. This originally Seattle group was still in four-piece formation with Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, Jason Everman, and Chad Channing. Though at the beginning it still couldn’t break into charts, it was getting warm reaction from the critics. After Nirvana achieved their commercial success with their second album, Nevermind, Geffen Records who at that time signed them made another release of Bleach in 1992.

All of the songs in this album are written by Kurt Cobain, except for “Love Buzz” which is a cover version of a Dutch rock band named Shocking Blue.

Mark Waid, Alex Ross - Kingdom Come.rar (Comic)

Mark Waid, Alex Ross - Kingdom Come.rar (Comic)
JPG Files: 214 | RAR Size: 31 MB |

Released by DC Comics as mini-series, Kingdom Come shines a new light on one of the authentic classics of the graphic novel genre. The story written by Alex Ross and Mark Waid and the marvelous realistic illustrations by Ross will take readers into an alternate version of DC Universe, about twenty years into the future. In this future, superheroes have grown old and each is haunted by their own problems.

There is a growing conflict between "traditional" superheroes, such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and the whole Justice League, and a rising community of new vigilantes. Most of them from this new population, in many cases the offspring of the traditional heroes, are amoral and dangerously irresponsible vigilantes. The conflict between the two groups will mean disaster and destruction and it is Batman and his assembled team who attempt to restrain it and prevent a world-ending superhuman war. The clash reaches it peaks when Captain Marvel enters the picture and duels Superman in a never-ending battle. There’s also a romantic side story between Kal-El and Diana (Wonder Woman).

Louis Sachar - Holes.pdf (eBook)

PDF Pages: 128 | File Size: 1MB |

This is the kind of values at Camp Green Lake: "If you take a bad boy and make him dig a hole every day in the hot sun, it will turn him into a good boy." That place is a juvenile detention facility. No lake there. And no happy campers either.

For Stanley Yelnats, being sent to Camp Green Lake is the better option, since the other one is jail. No matter that his conviction was all a case of mistaken identity, the Yelnats family has become accustomed to a long history of bad luck, thanks to their "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather!"

Music from the Motion Picture Pulp Fiction.rar (Music Album)

Posted on 7:41 AM by Unknown
Number of Tracks: 16 | Total Play Time: 41 Minutes | RAR Size: 55 MB |

In 1994 Quentin Tarantino made a movie that since then has been influencing the whole film industry and along with that movie, the album entitled Music from the Motion Picture Pulp Fiction was released. Tarantino work is nothing sort of ordinary or conventional one and so is the score arranged for it. This score is made of a mix of American rock and roll, surf rock, pop, and soul. Just like the film and the tracks used as backgrounds to the scenes, the soundtrack is equally unconventional. It consists of nine songs from the movie, four tracks of dialogue snippets followed by a song, and three tracks of dialogue alone.

This compilation reached No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and a cover of Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon (originally by Neil Diamond, here performed by Urge Overkill) reached No. 59 in single chart.

Here is the complete list of the tracks in Pulp Fiction Soundtrack:
01 Al Green - Let's Stay Together
02 Centurians - Bullwinkle
03 Chuck Berry - You Never Can Tell
04 Dusty Springfield - Son Of A Preacher Man
05 Kool & The Gang - Jungle_Boogie
06 Lively Ones - Surf Rider
07 Maria McKee - If Love Is A Red Dress
08 Pumpkin - Miserlou (ft. Honey Bunny)
09 Revels - Comanche
10 Ricky Nelson - Lonesome Town
11 Statler Brothers - Flowers On The Wall
12 Tornadoes - Bustin' Surfboards
13 Urge Overkill - Girl, You'll Be A Woman_Soon
14 VA - Ezekiel 25.17 (dialogue)
15 VA - Personality Goes A Long Way (dialogue)
