When You Reach Me is a novel by award-winning American author of books for young-adult and children, Rebecca Stead. The novel that mixes fantasy, science fiction, and mystery received mostly good reviews and critical acclaim following its publication in 2009. Getting the inspiration from an article in a newspaper about a man suffering from amnesia and also from A Wrinkle in Time, one of her favorite book from her childhood, Stead has successfully written a story with realistic setting and thorough details. The book also got commercial success and made it into The New York Times Bestseller list. The novel has also won several awards including Newbery Medal in 2010.
