The Tale of Despereaux is a fantasy novel written by Kate DiCamillo, an American author well known for her fantasy stories for children featuring animals. This 2004 Newbery Medal winner novel is divided in four books and each of them delivers the story from different perspective of different character. The story also presents a unique assortment of exciting characters, who set out on their respective journeys and will come across each other.
