Nirvana released their debut studio album Bleach in 1989. At that time, they had not earned the “King of Grunge” title yet and they released it under an independent label, Sub Pop. This originally Seattle group was still in four-piece formation with Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, Jason Everman, and Chad Channing. Though at the beginning it still couldn’t break into charts, it was getting warm reaction from the critics. After Nirvana achieved their commercial success with their second album, Nevermind, Geffen Records who at that time signed them made another release of Bleach in 1992.
All of the songs in this album are written by Kurt Cobain, except for “Love Buzz” which is a cover version of a Dutch rock band named Shocking Blue.
