Ruth Rendell - Put on by Cunning
Language: English; PDF Pages: 142; File Size: 0.7 MB;

British mystery-crime writer Ruth Rendell continued her popular Inspector Wexford series with the eleventh novel. The UK version was first published in 1981 under the title Put on by Cunning and the US version was published in the same year under the title Death Notes.

In this book Wexford conduct another investigation on a yet again mysterious case. The case is the death of renowned flautist Sir Manuel Camargue. He has been found dead in a snow-drift having ventured outside his house during the night. In a quick examination the death looks a straightforward case of death by misadventure. So it seems like a nice easy case for Wexford to solve. However, his detective instinct works and he has his niggling doubts that the man died because of a mere accident. The case gets to an interesting turn when Camargue's estranged daughter returns. After a considerable 19 years of absence, she is now returns to be the beneficiary.

Kveldulf Gundarsson - Teutonic Magic PDF eBook

Kveldulf Gundarsson - Teutonic Magic
Language: English; PDF Pages: 181; File Size: 1 MB;

Teutonic Magic: The Magical & Spiritual Practices of the Germanic Peoples is a book written by an American writer Stephan Grundy, who is best known under the pseudonym Kveldulf Gundarsson. He is a renowned author for his legendary saga adaptations and his works on Germanic mythology, paganism, and neopaganism.

Teutonic magic itself is a style of magic of particular interest to anyone of Northern European descent. In this particular book, Gundarsson describes the theory and practice of this old mythology and practices. It is absolutely not a tedious academic book. Here Gundarssons puts down things in a flowing piece of writing, the sagas themselves. He is covering subjects such as Norse deities and rituals, explaining runic divination, rune magick, and rituals for carving rune-tines.

From approximately two years of intensive research and “digging” the libraries, Gundarsson successfully presents a book that clearly describes the structure of the spiritual realms in which the Norse magician would walk. That is the reason many anyone who would love or interested in runes or the northern tradition deem Teutonic Magic as the classic text book.

The Prose Edda, estimated to be written around early 13th century, is a text on Old Norse Poetics.  It is believed that Snorri Sturlson is the author. Though no solid evidence exists that declares Sturluson is actually the writer, a manuscript from early 14th century—Codex Upsaliensis—mentions The Prose Edda and  Sturluson—Snorri himself was a Christian who had great interest and respect toward Norse and Pagan mythology.
