The Naked Face is the first novel written by Sidney Sheldon. The book was first published in 1970 and it was nominated by the Mystery Writers of America for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Novel by an American Author. A movie adaptation was made in 1983, the cast included Roger Moore.
This psychological action thriller flows in a fast pace is spiced up with occasional twists and turns now and then. A successful psychoanalyst, Dr. Judd Stevens, finds the people he works with are being murdered one by one, with the probability that he is also a target. First one of his patients is viciously killed and then it is his secretary that is found murdered. The police’s suspicion falls onto Stevens, that he is actually the murderer. To prove his innocence, the psychoanalyst hires a private detective to investigate and get the real killer.
